Phyllis F. (Piselli) Fischetti, age 93, of Sandy Hook and formerly of Monroe passed away peacefully on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Griffin Hospital, Derby surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicola "Nick" Fischetti, born in Settefrati, Italy on May 3, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Rocca (Macari) Piselli. Phyllis's love and gift for sewing, knitting and crocheting led to her long work history as a seamstress for many years before her retirement. She was remarkably talented in her craft and worked alongside her husband. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family and friends. Her greatest enjoyment however was found in the time she spent surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren whom she absolutely adored and cherished. She was a loving, devoted and outstanding wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving children, Marie Meresko and her husband Terry, Michael Fischetti and his wife Diana and Anthony Fischetti and his wife Maryann, her cherished grandchildren, Daniel, Nicholas, and Michael Meresko and his wife Pam, Nicole and Brandon Fischetti, her extended family, Sean, Danielle and Lauren, as well as three special nephews. In addition to her husband Nick, she was also predeceased by her brother, Guy Piselli and her sister, Josephine Guarnieri.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 50 Fairmont Place, Shelton, CT, Interment will follow in St, Mary Cemetery, Milford. Friends may greet the family at the church on Tuesday morning beginning at 8:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bridgeport Rescue Mission, 1088 Fairfield Ave. Bridgeport, CT. 06605.
