Mr. And Mrs. Rooney,
I never knew your son and you don't know me, but I went to college with a Mike Rooney from Stratford and I'm assuming you are related to each other. My daughter is currently battling a DIPG brain tumor and I came across your son's story, so thought I would write to express my condolences from one of family to another. Odd coincidence I also noticed Mike's Father passed away recently. Please pass along my condolences to his family. May god bless your family through this difficult journey.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know Katie from ALP, and I know she did nothing to have this happen to her. I always hate hearing about deaths at such a young age.

I had the pleasure of doing Quinn's makeup for In the Spotlight during How to Succeed and South Pacific. He was always first into my makeup chair and impressed me with his kind insight, sense of humor and total preparation for his roles. It was a joy to have known him. His memory will always be a blessing to those of us fortunate to have known him.

Some of us spend a lifetime trying to be someone and make a difference. Quinn has changed the world in a mere 19 years. The rippling effect of his life will live far and beyond this sad day. I just met Quinn at Ffld U this year and was astounded by his character and his journey. May the peace that passes understanding carry the Rooney family until you are all reunited in Heaven. I'm so thankful to have known Quinn. He always had a great smile and was a very polite young man. He was truly an inspiration to so many people young and old. When others would have rightfully sunk into a depression after being diagnosed with a rare brain tumor, he took the opportunity to show others how to fight and stay strong. He was a wonderful young man who leaves a legacy that many will not forget. May God bless him and his family and may he keep you all strong in the faith that some day you will be together again. Dear Rooney family:
As we are the parents of Matthew "MJ" Jones, who had the pleasure of rooming with your son at Loyola, our hearts are filled with sorrow. We are happy that Matthew & Quinn became friends. He has learned something more of life from Quinn, which has help Matthew to become an even more concerned person regarding his fellow human. Blessed be Quinn - thank you for what he has done for our son.
