Our world lost a very bright light this week with the passing of Raymond E. McIlhoney, Jr. Ray passed away suddenly in his sleep beside his beloved partner, Joanne Dabrowski Vitti, on Wednesday morning, December 6. Ray was a cherished father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and coworker. All that knew him loved him. He drove millions of miles for UPS, eagerly watched his son Raymond and daughter Bailey excel in sports as scholar athletes at Stratford High School, cruised on his Harley, and worshiped Led Zeppelin. He loved to cook Italian food and thought he did it better than all the Italians he knew. Ray had an encyclopedic memory and uncanny wit; his stories and quips will live on with those who were lucky enough to hear them. He was predeceased by two amazing men in our lives, Raymond E. McIlhoney, Sr., and William J. Keane, our stepfather. He is survived by his adoring mother, Virginia McIlhoney Keane; his precious children, Bailey and Raymond McIlhoney, and their mother Bonnie LaConte-McIlhoney; his sister Jane McIlhoney Lennon and her husband Chris Lennon; brothers John McIlhoney and his wife Bethany Carrier, James McIlhoney and his wife Noreen McIlhoney, and Terrance McIlhoney and his wife, Karen McIlhoney; and many loving nieces and nephews.
