Raymond Misinonile Obituary
Raymond Misinonile, age 90, of Orange City, Florida passed away on Dec. 8, 2014 at Halifax Hospice of Volusia County in Orange City after a short illness. Mr. Misinonile, born in East Boston, MA. on Oct. 8, 1924 to Andrew and Rose Misinonile, lived in Bridgeport, CT and California before moving to Florida in 1989. He attended Harding HS before enlisting in the Army prior to his 18th birthday to serve in World War II and was honorably discharged. After the war, he was married to Kathleen Verrilli Baxley and is survived by his two children, Louis Joseph (Michael) Misinonile and Vanessa Stevenson both of Renton, WA. He was grandfather to three grandchildren, Rachael (Eric) Peterson, Anna Stevenson and James Joseph Stevenson and great-grandfather to Hannah and Elias Peterson. He is also survived by three siblings, Connie Nettles of DeBary, Florida, Maria Sego of West Palm Beach, Florida and Rita Serena (Bob) of Milford, Ct. and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Louis Joseph, his sister Rose D'Onofrio and his former wife, Kathleen.
Mr. Misinonile was employed as a salesman for many various businesses both in CT. CA and FL. He could sell you the Brooklyn Bridge, he was that good at what he did. In recent years, he was residing at Horizon Bay Assisted Living in Orange City and had many friends there who enjoyed dancing, playing Bingo and was an excellent poker player. He was dancing until just a couple of months ago.
Baldauff Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A Military Funeral will be conducted by the VFW Post #8096 of DeBary at the discretion of the family. Burial will be private and will take place at the Hollywood Cemetery of Orange City, Florida.

My name is Josie Basile - I am the granddaughter of Giuseppa Lombardo Basile. She was your grandmother, Rose Lombardo's sister. We came over from Carini Sicily as a 6 girl-year-old. Your grandparents came to visit us on the farm in upstate New York, I was a young teen when at the time and your dad showed me and my sister how to do the cha-cha. He was so very nice. I have come to understand that he loved dancing. I just thought that I would share that memory with you. I suppose you could say that Ray and I are related. If ever this way, in Bonita Springs, do stop by - Rita knows where I live.

Oh Daddy & Mama , We celebrated your 67th wedding anniversary here on earth & Your handsome wise & wonderful Son celebrated his 66th birthday the very day before your anniversary so he was born one year minus one day after your wedding & coincidentally , my first baby was born one year & two days after my marriage to Randy ..Brother & I are doing well, working together to carry High the Bright Torch you left for us ! My Dear Papa , Today, it is 2 long years since our beloved beautiful Mother passed into Eternity. You two may have been divorced and across the entire country from one another but you always loved our Mother & you even asked her to marry you again in your old age & you spoke on the phone so often .. Every day since she was gone , you asked me about her , for you were so devastated upon her passing, life was just too lonely and too sad for you & we lost you too only 10 1/2 months after Mama passed away so our hearts are broken but we know that one day we will see you & Mama and our Lord Jesus in Heaven & i look forward to that day

Oh and don't forget to tell Mama that I'm singing in a Men's choir and that I found a Church with great men of God that love Jesus with all their hearts!
I sang a solo last week and was complimented by a few members of the Church which gladdened my heart because when African American folks say you can "sang"; it means more because they have great singing voices! Give Mama a big hug for her two adoring children! Oh, and tell our Lord that I'm trying to be the man He desires me to be and I'm managing a local car wash....The Rainbow Car Wash and am happy to be earning once again! Stay well, my Papa!

God blessed me with an awesome 18 foot Seaswirl boat,Caulkins trailer, inboard/outboard 3.8 liter V6; and it's never been in salt water and eventhough 30 years old.....looks marvelous! Wish I could take you out on this boat, instead of the 14 foot Glastron I used to have! Stay well....see ya soon! (In eternal time, soon)...Love always...Your son

There is not a moment that goes by, that i don't think of you & reminisce about & miss you & Mama ~ I still have your old phone numbers in my phone ...There are so many times during the day and night when i wish i could call you but i know that you are not there anymore & my heart cannot comprehend what my mind already knows ... I miss you so badly but am glad that you do not have to deal with the sadness and suffering of this world anymore ...The pain you experienced since the moment you hit the shores as a young army soldier whose best friend was killed immediately , shot in the neck you told me and he died instantly and as soon as found out that your brother had been killed in the War at the Tragedy at Bari Italy on December 2nd 1943, the very day you deployed Papa as a 19 year old Army Soldier , it was all too much to handle & you never forgot or even slightly got over the horror of that war ...So even though i miss you so much that it takes my breath away < I am so thankful that you are out of pain & you are back with Mama and your Brother & the rest of your Loved Ones in heaven , ~ in the Sweet Bye and Bye , waiting loyally & faithfully for all of us, the rest of your Family & Loved Ones where we will meet on that beautiful shore & are all reunited once again

Dearest Dad....Oh i miss our phone calls...You would always tell us that you love us and the last thing you would say before we hung up everyday is " Stay Well " ..i also miss you when you were up here with us in the Great Northwest...you were in your seventies and you painted many rooms in the house which i will always remember and think of & be thankful for ...How you made sure we all had enough money to get to the Family Reunion we had in 2006 & again in 2007 ..My children always loved you & thought highly of their Papa, and i wish we had stayed in the same state, cause your Great Grandchildren would have loved the chance to get to know you well too ..I will never forget the time Several of us were in the hot tub in your Son, my Brother's back yard & you always were so funny with your quick jokes, and you said that you wondered what the poor people were doing !!! My heart and mind is full of tender pictures of our past as a Family & i want you to know i will always cherish them ...Thanks for the Memories Papa ..We love you & miss you every day
