Payne, Raymond H..
Raymond H. Payne, age 87 of North Branford, formerly of Ansonia, entered into rest on Thursday December 17, 2015 in CT Hospice. He was the devoted husband of 66 years to Joan Burns Payne. He was born in Bridgeport on July 1, 1928, son of the late George and Margaret (Milady) Payne and was a resident of Ansonia for 40 years before moving to North Branford. He was a Truck Driver for Standard Tallow. He was a permanent member of Hilltop Hose Company #5 with over 30 years of service and a member of the Fire Police. He is survived by his three beloved daughters, Deborah Wells (Dustin), Donna Payne Manion (Jed), Karen Suller (Charles), six loving grandchildren, Stacey, Mark, Shawn, Jenna, Megan, Jordan, 6 great grandchildren, one brother Charles Payne (Rosemary), three sisters, Mary Bussolotti, Margaret Olsen, Barbara Fry, half sister Dorothy Gantek and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers Arnold, John "Howard", Robert, and one half brother Frank "Butch" Gantek.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton. A funeral service with military honors will be held on Tuesday at 6:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to CT Hospice 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford, CT. Online condolences may be left at www.riverviewfh.com.
