Richard Lemay Obituary

Richard Lemay
July 5, 1965 - August 10, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard M. Lemay, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, who left us on August 10, 2024, at the age of 59. Richard was a man who lived life to the fullest, always with a smile on his face and a helping hand extended to those in need.
Richard spent his life embodying kindness, generosity, and an unstoppable zest for life. He was often found fishing, creating paintings and sculptures, cooking meals for loved ones, or working on one of his many projects. His creativity extended to the winter months, where he delighted in making snow sculptures that brought joy to all who saw them. One of Richard's greatest passions was riding his motorcycle, where he found freedom and joy on the open road.
A man of many friends, Richard was an active and cherished member of the Moose Club in Enfield and the German Club in Broad Brook. Richard worked at Galasso for years and was part of the Connecticut Laborers' Union. He was a fixture in these communities, where his warmth and humor will be sorely missed.
Richard is survived by his devoted daughter, Lea Lemay, and her husband, Billy Brown; his loving mother, Monique Dion; his sister, Donna Lemay, and her partner, John Botticello, and her daughter, Kelly Lemay; his brother, Gary Lemay, and his wife, Judy Lemay; and his brother, Michael Lemay, and his wife, Margie Lemay, along with their children Jen and Christy and grandchildren. Richard's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday August 24, 2024 in Richard's honor at St. Catherine Church in Broad Brook, CT, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a burial at St. Catherine Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to join in a Celebration of Life in East Windsor, CT, where stories will be shared and Richard's vibrant life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.

Best day of my life was walking Lea down the aisle along with Rich, and I know it was the greatest day in his life as well. He can rest assured she will never be alone because we gave her away to an incredible husband, and I will always be there as a father.

Growing up, Richard was my wild-child, rabble-rouser younger cousin. As an adult, he would always make an effort to see me whenever I visited family in CT. I know he will be greatly missed by those who saw him more often than I did. My sincerest condolences go to my Aunt Monique, his daughter and my cousins; I know they will miss him the most.

RIP Rambo! You would always call for a steak at Main Street I knew it was you didn´t even have to ask the order, loved seeing you at German Club too! You were always so Jolly and happy. I also will never forget my sons ball rolled into the road and you made a complete stop letting others know to stop. You didn´t even know it was my son and me and his ball but you were aware no matter what!! You always brought a smile to my face just hearing your voice! I´ll miss seeing you around town and your call for your steak and your bear hug! you will surely be missed by many.

I remember we were working on a road for Galasso and Rambo was in charge of traffic ..so this girl in her young 20´s was driving down that road ,he approached her had her roll down the window and with his deep raspy voice said...(Where Do You Live) I think he scared the s#it out of her!! ..we all laughed and told him that probably wasn´t a good choice of words ..Rambo got a good laugh out of it ...so sorry for your loss...
