I met Dr. Peschel when I was 50 YO, went back to college to enter a field where I could make a positive difference in people's lives. I was fortunate to get hired by YNHH where I met Dr. Peschel. He was tough, caring and exacting and he became a mentor to me. I will always be grateful for what he taught me.

I'm so sorry to hear Richard has passed away. I knew Dick since we were babies, we grew up on the same block in Madison and our mothers were friends in those bygone days when moms stayed at home with the kids and the fathers worked. Dick and I attended grade school and high school together and we played and swan and ice skated when we were kids. My favorite memory of Dick is when we were in second grade. Dick sat in front of me in class and the two of us decided that it would be a good idea to draw an ongoing war. I would draw a plane and give the paper to Dick and he would draw a plane shooting it down and I would draw a tank and scribble his plane out and send the paper back to him, and as the war escalated there was more machinery and casualties drawn and we must have been having too much fun because Mrs. Purcell, the teacher, put an end to our fun. I was much bigger than Dick so I got caught and was moved to a different place in the room so I wouldn't cause trouble. Dick got a pass on the blame and we got a good laugh out of the situation. Dick was a talented guy and although we lost track of one another after high school I was always happy to hear about his various accomplishments. May he rest in peace.
