Robert Cannone Obituary

CANNONE Robert J. Cannone, Jr., age 71 of Oxford, died at his residence on Monday, October 1, 2007. Born in South Fork, Pa. on December 8, 1935, he was a son of the late Robert James and Ruth Viola Varner Cannone Sr. A resident of Oxford for 32 years, he previously resided in Bridgeport and Fairfield. He was a mill wright and train engineer at Carpenter Steel for 30 years and also worked at United Illuminating before retiring in 1999. Mr. Cannone was an avid hunter, fisherman, NASCAR fan and he also enjoyed horseback riding. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Linda Carnaroli Cannone; two children, Robert Cannone and Tammy Bavolacco; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Greg Tirone of Trumbull; special nephews and niece, Mike, Danny, Rick, Joe and Laurie; as well as several additional nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by two brothers, Charles and Joseph Cannone and a sister, Gwendolyn Millo. Funeral services will take place on Friday, October 5, 2007 at 9 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10 a.m. in Calvary Evangelical Free Church, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. To light a virtual candle, visit us at www.abriola.com.
