Robert Cryoskie Obituary

Robert C. Cryoskie
Robert (Ozzie) Cryoskie passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, in Bridgeport, CT, surrounded by his devoted daughters. Ozzie was a long-time Trumbull resident. He was born and raised in Bridgeport, CT, and considered his memories of Harding High School as some of his favorite ones. He was a business owner of Efficiency Porter Service for over 50 years.
He is survived by his daughters, Sheila Pici, Valerie Coyle and her husband, David, Catherine Ruiz and her husband, Santos and Patti-Ann Gentillo. He was the proud grandfather of nine and great-grandfather of nine. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth and his son, Robert. Basketball was a great passion in his life. He coached teams and guided athletes at Kolbe-Cathedral High School, Notre Dame Fairfield High School, Assumption School and St. Peter's School. At the end of his coaching career, he dedicated time to coaching his grandkids at Trumbull Recreational and St. Theresa summer camps.
During the last years of his life, he enjoyed spending time at home listening to his favorite music and collecting sports memorabilia. When he was not at home, he could be found at the Shelton or Trumbull senior centers, dancing at events and enjoying exercise classes.
He will be missed for his outgoing and friendly personality.

It was our Mom that casually mentioned to Ruth that St Peter needed a basketball coach.
Red Auerbach could not have done a better job recruiting.

Thank you for being the best coach I ever played for. You instilled hard work. toughness.. and how to be a great teammate. You brought the best out of us on the basketball court. A part of you will carry on in all who have played for you.

Ozzie was my coach at St. Peter's and he tried his best despite my inability to play. I shot on his back yard court with Bobby. Again, mostly rebounding while Bobby made shots from everywhere. At Notre Dame I was his manager and was always treated with respect and coached as a manager. He was a great guy, a brilliant basketball mind, and the guy I always called "Coach" R.I.P Coach. Thanks for everything you taught me.
