He served in the U.S. Navy from November 24th, 1958 to December 2nd, 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis. In retirement, he most enjoyed spending time with his family. He also discovered a love for golf and working at the Par 3 golf course. For all who knew him, he loved to tell stories and classic dad jokes.
Surviving Bob are his loving wife of 58 years, and their daughters Kelly Baker and her husband Steven and Colleen Palmer and her husband Joe, along with his granddaughters, Molly Baker, Hannah Baker and Drew Palmer, and his granddogs Moose and George. He is also survived by his brother T. Kevin McMahon (Eileen) and his nieces and nephews Debbie DelBueno (Gary), Brien McMahon (Amy), Theresa Bardes (Tony), Laurie Therrien (Tony), Jill Kristle (Rob), Craig Halica, Kevin McMahon, Kerry Rudy (Davin), and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother William McMahon and sister-in-law Teri McMahon and his sister Maureen Halica and brother-in-law Peter Halica.

I went to the same grammar school as Robert; I was in a lower grade. He was the nicest boy I had ever known. He said good bye to me one time after a school play and that kindness stayed with me for my entire life. Am praying for family members. May God hold you all tightly in His loving arms.

Mac was a guy you would go to for a question or advice when I first started at the PO. He was a good guy. Talked about our time in the Navy. I send my condolences to your family!

Betsy, Kelly and Colleen: I am so sad to learn of Bob's passing. He was always so upbeat, friendly and kind to me and others. The world has lost a shining star! I will be thinking of you and your family. May he rest in peace.
