Robert A. Starkey, age 92, of Shelton, entered into rest on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Griffin Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of 67 years to Shirley (Boeckhott) Starkey. Robert was born in Bridgeport on January 17, 1933 son of the late Robert and Anna May (Repka) Starkey and was a Shelton resident for most of his life. He proudly served in Korea with the U.S. Air Force. Robert was a service manager for over 40 years at Bridgeport Hydraulic Company until his retirement. He was an active member of the Huntington United Methodist Church, a member of the Sutter-Terlizzi American Legion Post 16 and the former President of the Little League North. During his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and traveling to Florida. Later, he loved making puzzles and collecting coins. He also enjoyed painting and gardening. Robert is the beloved father of Robert Starkey, David (Jiji) Starkey, Lori (Juan) Sanchez and Kathy (David) Miccinello, loving grandfather of Andrea (Ben) Vidiella, David Sanchez, Dena (Ian) Miccinello-Barbarula, Samantha Starkey, Rachael Starkey, Craig Starkey and Eva Starkey, loving great-grandfather of Ellie and Mateo Vidiella and stepbrother of Bob Brozozowski. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his brother William Starkey.
On Friday, friends may call at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. His funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the parlor. His burial will be at Lawn Cemetery. Friends may leave condolences at www.riverviewfh.com.
