Russell Krol, 79, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully at Bridgeport Hospital with his family by his side on October 20, 2022. Russ was born in Bridgeport to the late Pearl (Butler) Krol and Frank Krol. He will be dearly missed by his devoted wife of 48 years, Janice Aubin Krol, and his daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Keith Flanagan of East Granby, CT. Russ is also survived by his sisters, Terri Clark of Naugatuck, Joan Sheehy of Torrington, sister-in-law, Darcy Krol of Beacon Falls, brother, Lee Krol of Stratford as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family, cousins and friends. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Gary Krol and Ronald Krol. Russ attended Norwalk Community College and was a retired employee of CT Carpenter's Union Local 210. He was a carpenter by trade who could build and fix almost anything and would often be found helping family and friends with their home projects. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, skiing, boating, golfing, hiking, gardening, and vacations spent at Newport, RI, and Vero Beach, FL, but mostly enjoyed time spent with his family, friends and granddogs, Belle and Chloe. He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor and hard work and will be dearly missed. His family would like to recognize the caregivers who made a difference in his life especially, Dr. Bertini (PCP), Dr. Moskowitz & Dr. Winslow (Cardiology), Dr. Gettinger, Emily Duffield APRN (Oncology), Dr. Possick, Dr. Tanoue (Pulmonology) and the Yale Smilow Cancer team, as well as Dr. Velcheti and team at NYU Perlmutter for their excellent care and for the lung cancer clinical trials they made available to him. Lastly, to the staff of Bridgeport Hospital Emergency Room and West Tower 8 for their compassionate care in his final days. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
