Sadie Fanali Obituary

Sadie Fanali
Sadie Fanali, age 99, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 9, 2021 in Stratford, CT. Born in Bridgeport, CT on November 11, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Antonio Giordanella and Francesca Covato Giordanella. She was predeceased by her loving husband of fifty years, Matthew Fanali, and her son Matthew Fanali, Jr., siblings Michael and Carmen Giordanella and Pat Crowell. She is survived by her brother Matthew Giordanella, her eight remaining children —Joseph Fanali (Judy Fanali), Tina D'Andrea, Francine Fanali, Anthony Fanali (Rochelle Lewis Fanali), Mark Fanali, Carmen Fanali and John Fanali; fifteen cherished grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews.
Sadie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and was passionate about her family. She was a longtime member of New Life Church in Trumbull, CT, and her devotion to her faith was unwavering. As an avid volunteer, being of service was extremely important to Sadie throughout her life. Her deep faith contributed to her positive and accepting attitude. She loved creating -- sewing, knitting, arts and crafts -- and she had a major "green thumb." Everything survived through her care.
A private funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. An online Celebration of Sadie's Life with family and friends is being planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sadie's memory may be made to New Life Church, 28 Hedgehog Road, Trumbull, CT 06600 or to a charity of your choosing. To offer the family online condolences, please visit www.dennisanddarcy.com
