Salvatore Maresca Obituary

MARESCA Salvatore A. Maresca, age 77, of Fairfield, the beloved husband of the late Mave (Cahill) Maresca, entered into rest on Thursday, January 8, 2004, in Fairfield. Born in Bridgeport, on May 11, 1926, he was the son of the late Jack and Concetta Maresca, and was an area resident all of his life. Mr. Maresca was a self-employed milk distributor and a businessman in Bridgeport for many years. His greatest pleasure in life was his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his beloved children, attorney Robert A. Maresca and his wife, Jean, of Fairfield, Patty Woods and her husband, William, of Trumbull, and attorney Salvatore A. Maresca and his wife, Laura, of the Southport section of Fairfield; his loving grandchildren, Jeffrey Woods and his wife, Kerri, of the Huntington section of Shelton, Ryan Woods and his wife, Michele, of Stratford, Kellie Woods of Trumbull, Robert A. Maresca Jr., Kimberly Maresca, Michael Maresca and Alexis Maresca, all of Fairfield, and Alexandra and Matthew Maresca of Southport. He is also survived by his cherished loving great-grandchildren, Samantha Mave Woods, Tyler Woods and Ryan Woods Jr.; two brothers, John Maresca and his wife, Lucrecia, of Trumbull, and Carmen Maresca of Bridgeport; one sister-in-law, Vivian Maresca of Bridgeport; and several nieces and nephews. He had a positive influence on every life he touched and will be sadly missed by all. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, January 10, 2004, at 11 a.m. DIRECTLY in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield. Entombment in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Friday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport.

I feel very fortunate to have known Sal. I will miss seeing his smiling face right after I gave him a big hug and kiss. We have lost a wonderful person My heart goes out to all the family.
