Scott Burns Obituary

Scott David Burns
December 15, 2021
Scott David Burns passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on December 15, 2021, while on vacation in Florida. He was born on November 22, 1964 to William and Pauline (Raucci) Burns and leaves behind his wife Donna Solotruk Burns of Seymour, CT and his three sons - William Burns of Davenport, FL, Nicholas (Deanna Barba) Burns of North Haven, CT and Kevin Burns of Seymour, CT. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Kevin W. Burns. In addition to his wife and children, Scott is survived by his sister Debra (Michael) Masella of Golden, CO and Marco Island, FL, his nephew Christopher Masella of Golden, CO, his brother Michael (Mary) of Venice, FL as well as his sister in law Jessica (Frank) Machinello of Bridgeport, CT, his brother in law Frank Solotruk of Colchester, CT and his former wife Susan (Jeff) Mascia of Davenport, FL. He also leaves many beloved cousins and their families.
Scott graduated from Platt Technical High School and worked in the grocery/supermarket business his entire career. He was a Produce Manager at Stop & Shop for 20+ years, most recently in Fairfield and was a member of UFCW Union 919, proudly serving as Union Steward for many years. He also worked part time at Showcase Cinemas since high school.
The most important people in his life were his three boys - his love for his sons was immeasurable - he was so very proud of each of them. He was also a Cat Dad with Max being his favorite. He loved a great steak or prime rib, Pepe's pizza and all sweets and desserts - often baking his famous cheesecakes and brownies for family, friends and co-workers. He was a NY Yankees fan, frequented the casinos, went to many amusement parks and Comicons and enjoyed the movies, particularly Star Wars and Marvel. Scott was a huge fan of heavy metal and hard rock music and attended hundreds of concerts during his life. He was a true patriot who loved the U.S.A. and 4th of July celebrating every year with fireworks.
Scott was simply the best dad, husband, brother, cousin and friend - an all-around great guy - deeply loved by everyone who knew him - we are all heartbroken and he will be sorely missed forever.
Services will be private. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a future date. West Haven Funeral Home at the Green is entrusted with arrangements. To leave a message for Scott's family, please visit our website, www.westhavenfuneral.com.

I am so sorry to hear this. I have very fond memories of growing up with Scott and being involved in Scouts together. It was always great seeing him at the movie theater. May he rest in peace.

Donna and family , I´m so sorry for your loss . Scott was a great man . I had the pleasure of working with him in 2 different stores . He taught me a lot and was amazed of his knowledge of not only produce but of mostly everything. Scott was always there to listen and to give advice . I will miss him dearly .
