Sean McCarthy Obituary

MCCARTHY Sean M. McCarthy, 41, of New Haven, formerly of Milford, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, August 20, 2011. Born on June 23, 1970 in Milford, he was the son of Janice Metzler McCarthy of Milford and the late Bernard Michael McCarthy. Sean worked as a Warehouse Manager for Prism Office Solutions in West Haven for many years. After graduating from Platt Tech in Milford, Sean went on to earn a degree from Southern Connecticut State University in Library Science and Information Technology. He was known for his diverse interests, such as music and literature. Sean was a true people person, always able to make friends quickly and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his mother, Sean is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Kirsten Nauta McCarthy of New Haven; his brother Brian McCarthy and his nieces, Mary and Katherine McCarthy; his sister-in-law, Kim Guarco and her husband Frank of Plainville, and their children, Kyle, Katie and Keira Guarco. Sean is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as his cherished cats, Dusk, Bliss and Shinobe. Friends and family are invited to process from the funeral home for the Memorial Mass to be held on Saturday, August 27th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel Church, 26 Broadway Milford. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 24th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, on the Green, Milford. We remember Sean as a baby and youngster and grown-up at his wedding. He was the youngest of the 6 Metzler family cousins. How sad one so young died too soon. Rest in peace, Sean. Our love, Uncle Buddy, Aunt Pat, Jim and Val
