Shirley Holcomb Obituary

HOLCOMB Shirley J. Holcomb of Shelton, died Friday, September 29, 2006 at Connecticut Hospice. She was the wife of Miles E. Holcomb. Born in Derby on January 22, 1944, daughter of Mary Comkowycz Martinka of Shelton and the late Joseph Martinka Sr., she was a member of the Wampum Club. Survivors include her husband, Miles E. Holcomb; mother, Mary Martinka; children, Kevin, Brian, Michael, Jennifer, Kimberly and Drew; brothers, Henry, Joseph and Anthony Martinka; sisters, Joan Rose, Nancy Darling and Sharon Martinka; grandchildren, Taylor, Kayla and Jacob. Additional family members that were there for her during her illness, Dawn and Ted Kostzewski, Linda Martinka and Paul Martinka and father and mother-in-law, Miles K. and June Holcomb. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Bennett Funeral Home, 91 N. Cliff Street followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. in Trinity Episcopal Church, 95 Church Street, Seymour. Calling hours will be on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Connecticut Hospice in care of the funeral home.

I was saddened when I learned the news of Shirley passed away. May God rests her in peace. She was wonderful person and I was glad that I saw her here in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago. My deepest sympathy goes out to your family.
