Stefano Altieri Obituary

Altieri, Jr., Stefano P.
Stefano P. Altieri, Jr., age 80, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Clelia Verrilli Altieri, died on Sunday October 28, 2012 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on November 21, 1931, he was a son of the late Stefano and Mary Gentile Altieri, Sr. A U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, he was a retired employee of Sikorsky Aircraft with 39 years of dedicated service. Mr. Altieri was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1949 and later found great enjoyment in the 23 years he spent as a "snow bird" in Florida. A loving husband, father, grandfather and his ability to fix anything will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him. In addition to his adored wife of 57 years, Clelia, survivors include four sons, Mark Altieri and his wife Sharon of Trumbull, Erik Altieri and his wife Marie of Seymour, David Altieri and his wife AnnMarie of Stratford and Stephen Altieri and his wife Ann of Monroe, 6 grandchildren, Matthew, Brian, Erica, Kara, Sydney and Christian Altieri, a brother Alexander Altieri of Florida, a sister, Shirley Ciaramello and her husband Michael of Bridgeport, as well as several nieces and nephews. Stefano was predeceased by his sister Gloria Visconti, and brothers Robert, Carmen and John Altieri. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. I was always the first one in the car when we got ready to visit Uncle Steve's house. I will always remember sleeping on his army cot and setting it up with him. Uncle Steve will be missed, but is always in my heart.
