Steve Alves Obituary
February 9, 1983 - March 24, 2023
We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved Steve Alves. On the night of March 24, Steve lost his life to injuries sustained in a car accident in New Milford, CT. A resident of Newtown, Steve was born and raised in Danbury, CT where he attended Henry Abbott Technical High School and graduated from the automotive program. He went on to work for Sperry Rail and was most recently at Kimberly-Clark in New Milford, CT where he was a planner and manager.
Steve was an adventurous soul who loved cars and racing, off-roading and fishing, as well as traveling the world. He was outgoing, fiercely funny, and well-liked by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving partner Alexandra Pelletier and their niece Raeanne Yeomans; his parents José O. and Virginia Alves; his paternal grandmother Cidalia Oliva; his maternal grandmother Maria Cecilia Fernandes Casto; his maternal grandfather Antonio DeAlmeida; his uncle and godfather Arlindo Almeida; his sister and her husband, Cidalia and Robert Kettles and his nieces A. and S. Kettles as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his aunt and godmother Angela Sequenzia, and his paternal grandfather José Alves.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Steve Alves Memorial Scholarship, care of Henry Abbott Technical High School, 21 Hayestown Road, Danbury, CT 06811.
Calling hours will be held from 11am-2pm on Saturday, April 1st at Honan Funeral Home in Newtown, CT.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, April 14th at 11:30am at St. Pius X Church in Fairfield, CT.

I'm so sorry for you lost. I will pray for you and your family and to find the strenght to get through the pain of losing your love one. It will take time but the pain will ease and time goes by. Remember your happy times and he will always be in your hearts.

Steve and I were hired on the same day at Kimberly Clark. We were the only ones in the group and we spend 3 weeks together getting to know each other. Steve talked about his family. That was his heart. And his passion for what he called 'tinkering.' I didn't get to see him in action at work, but I know his loss is felt immensely by the sadness that is hovering the building. I cannot imagine the loss his family is feeling. Please know that as Steve has left his physical life, he is still listening and watching over us.

I had the pleasure to work with Steve for several years at Sperry. He was such a talent, you could put anything in front of him and he could get it done. His sudden passing was a complete sock. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones. RIP Steve, you will be missed

My dear Virginia, Joe, Cidalia and family, my heart breaks for you all. Steve was one of the funniest people I´d ever met with the biggest heart full of love for his family.
