Audra Jane Martin Obituary

Mrs. Audra J. Martin, 74 of Thorntown, passed away March 11, 2017, at Homewood Health Campus.

Audra was born on April 12, 1942, in Lebanon, the daughter of the now late Donovan and Norma (Miller) Mitchell. She was married to Harold Martin. He survives.

Audra was a customer service representative for Mid-State Bank, Citizens and PNC Bank. She enjoyed working with the customers. Audra was a deacon and elder of Thorntown Christian Church and a member of Alpha Omega and PEO Chapter A Sisterhood. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her tea ring. Audra was "Miss Congeniality" in the Mrs. Boone County contest.

Survivors include her husband, Harold and daughters, Michelle (John) Vickery of Kirklin and Tammy (Dennis) Woody of Thorntown; grandchildren: Matthew (fiancé Tracie Taha) Woody of Thorntown, Lindsey (Ryan) Musgrave of Thorntown, Brandy (John) Nirider of Brownsburg, Carson and Caleb Vickery of Kirklin; great-grandchild, Brodie Musgrave; a sister, Donna May Schriber of Brownsburg and a brother-in-law, Cliff Wethington of Lebanon. Audra was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Carolyn Wethington.

Family and friends will gather Wednesday, March 15, 2017 for visitation from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and services will be held Thursday, March 16 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Glen Jewell in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Audra will be laid to rest at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown. Although we won't be there for the service, just know we love you all, and our thoughts and prayers are with you. She will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her and having her as a wonderful member of the Martin Family. Rest in Peace Sweet Jane. Love and hugs. Jesse and Janice.

I'm so sorry to hear about your guys loss! I know I don't know you guys but im sure you know my aunt and cousin im related to Yvonne baird and my cousin Chelsea Hiland and Chelseas friend is lindsey. I'm the one that works at homewood and Janie seemed like a very sweet lady I felt like she never talked I always felt like she was so shy! I always would say hi to her whenever I would go by her and I'm sure she apprecited it. Aga in im so sorry for your loss
