Stuart Prottas, age 80 of Trumbull, Ct, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 after a long illness with his loving family by his side. Mr. Prottas was born in New London, CT, a son of the late Frank and Mildred Prottas, and was a graduate of Bullard Havens Regional Technical School. Stuart was a designer with Sikorsky Aircraft for over 40 years, and enjoyed sports, both as a spectator and participant, especially basketball and tennis. He is survived by his beloved wife Janet Levy Prottas, his devoted children, Robert Prottas of Trumbull, CT, Susan Hines and her husband Murray of Newark, DE, cherished brother Harold Prottas and his wife Betty of California, adored grandchildren Alex and Chris Prottas, and by loving nieces and nephews. Stuart was also pre deceased by his sister, Melvina Prottas. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM from The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home 88 Beach Road in Fairfield, with interment following at Loyalty Cemetery on Burroughs Rd. in Fairfield.
