Terrence Berry Obituary

Berry, Terrence

Terrence C. Berry, "Zeke", age 88, of Milford, passed peacefully at home on Friday October 9th, surrounded by his loving family . He was the beloved husband of 61 years to the late Agnes M. (Capozzi) Berry. He was born August 19, 1927 in Bridgeport, to the late Charles and Alice (Kilroy) Berry. Terrence was raised in Bridgeport and was a graduate of Harding High School. He then joined the US Army Air Force and was deployed to Japan to assist with the rebuilding efforts after the end of World War II. After the service, Terrence and Agnes married in 1951 and settled in Bridgeport. They later moved to Milford, where they resided for almost 40 years and raised four children. Over the years, he was employed as a data tabulator by Chance Vought Aircraft in Stratford, a computer programmer for CBS Records in Bridgeport and a manager of data processing for Sikorsky Aircraft and later Pitney Bowes. When Terrence was younger, he earned a pilots license and flew small planes out of Bridgeport airport. He also loved fishing for blues with his Dad and children on Long Island Sound. Throughout his life, he loved to travel. He and Agnes visited many exciting places all over the world and the US. After retirement, they relocated to their new home in Bradenton, FL on Palma Sola Bay, where the water views reminded them of their home on the Housatonic River in Milford. He was a devoted husband and father and will always be missed by his loving family and friends. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brother, Charles Berry of Milford, and daughter, Karen (Berry) Terew of Indianapolis IN. Survivors include his remaining children, Kathleen Harrison (Bob) of Bethany, Kevin Berry (Colleen) of Milford and Michael Berry (Jeanne) of Salt Lake City UT, his grandchildren, Jessica, David and Julia Harrison of Bethany, Troy Terew (Tamara) of Fortville IN, Christopher Berry of Milford, his great-grandchildren, Kody and Kolton Terew of Fortville IN, and several nieces and nephews, including Danny Berry of Seymour, and Judy (Berry) Giusti of Milford.
A very special thanks to the staff of Carriage Green at Milford and Vitas Hospice Care. Thank you for taking care of our Dad. You are all amazing! There will be no calling hours. To Kathleen, Kevin and Mike. My deepest sympathies to you and your families on the loss of your father. I remember both your Mom and Dad being like second parents to me and the rest of our "gang" growing up. We all have a lot of great memories growing up in the old neighborhood. May those memories and the love of family and friends sustain you all. May God bless you and give you peace in the knowledge that he has been reunited with your Mom and your sister.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Although it has been many years, I remember your father well as I grew up down the street and spent many years playing in the Berry yard. He is now reunited with your mom and my friend, Karen, and at peace. Many blessings.

Kevin, Colleen, Kathy, Bob, Mike & Jeanne,

Joe and I would like to express our deepest sympathy for the loss of your dad (Uncle Terry). Wow, looking at the photos what great happy memories of the family which will be cherished forever. I will also cherish the moments that were spent with your dad when he moved back to Connecticut. Will miss Uncle Terry very much as he was the last link to my dad but I can find comfort knowing he is now in a better place with your mom, Karen and my mom and dad. Love you all.
