Theresa Vecchio Obituary

VECCHIO Theresa Leopardi Vecchio, age 90, of Plante Lane, Shelton entered into rest on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the Hewitt Memorial Hospital in Shelton. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Vecchio. Mrs. Vecchio was born in Bridgeport, on Dec.ember 11, 1917, daughter of the late Michael and Lena Leopardi, and lived in Bridgeport for many years before moving to Shelton in 1989. She worked for many years for Remington Shavers before retiring over 25 years ago. She was the beloved mother of the late Lydia J. Fida and the late Frank John Vecchio. She is survived by two brothers, Vincent Leopardi of Bridgeport, and Joseph Leopardi of Stratford; two sisters, Rosalie Solemene of Stratford, and Nancy Mooney of Bridgeport; her son-in-law, Dr. Joseph Fida of Shelton; three loving grandsons, Mark Fida, Joseph Fida, Jr., and Greg Fida and his wife, Michele; four cherished great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Leopardi, and a sister, Florence Nesshoever. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at St. Lawrence Church in Shelton. Her burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery in Stratford. At the request of the family, memorial contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton, CT 06484.
