Thomas Alston Sr.

ALSTON Thomas Alston Sr. age 64, of Stratford, died Friday, January 31, 2003, at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Sumster, S.C., he had been a resident of this city since 1973. He belonged to Fellowship Temple, where he served as a deacon, custodian, and the pastor's right hand. He was also a member of the Templairs Quartet. He was employed as a truck driver for Rite-O-Way. He is survived by : his wife Mattie Murray Alston of Stratford; nine sons, Thomas Jr. of Bridgeport, Gregory, Luis and Lindrew Alston of Stratford, Gary Alston of South Carolina, Davon, Tyshaun, and Daqhoun Alston and Mitchell Hart of Stratford; one daughter, Margaret Alston of Bridgeport; one brother, Fred Alston of New York; one sister, Isabella Greene of Bridgeport; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, and other relatives. Services will be held Thursday at 12 non at Fellowship Temple, 1281 Stratford Avenue, Bridgeport, with Elder John Loyd officiating. Interment in Park Cemetery.
