Dr. Birney was my pediatrician for 18 years. He was a wonderful man and I have very fond memories of going to his office. I recently ran into Dr. McLoughlin. Please accept my condolences.

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of this gentle, kind , and caring physician. I actually used to look forward to going to see Dr. Birney. I feel my good health is due to the wonderful care he always gave me. May God have mercy on his soul. Sincerely, Foster Ryan

My entire life I have measured any doctor I've visited against my memories of Dr. Birney - none have even come close. He was a kind man and gentle doctor and I remember thinking that he could have been a movie star because he just had that special quality. He is a wonderful part of my childhood memories even though he did give me all those dreaded shots! My deepest sympathy to his family at this difficult time.

God bless Dr. Birney. He took care of my children, even to giving them their college physicals. He came to the house many times when my daughter had croup. He saw our Christmas tree many times, since that is when she would get sick.
One year he said we should invite him to see our tree, so he would not have to make a professional visit. He was a very special man,
and a wonderful doctor.

A great man and a prince has died this day. Dr.Birney was a Norman Rockwell image of a doctor, and had a gift and kindness that anyone he serviced would never forget. Dr.Birney used to let me play with his sweeper and clean his rugs when I was a child. Enjoy your reward in heaven.
