Thomas Katsis

Thomas Katsis, beloved husband of Margaret (Trumpfeller) Katsis, of Bridgeport, passed away on January 9, 2018 at CT Hospice. Tom was born in Bridgeport to the late Gus and Anna Katsis and was very proud of his Greek heritage. Throughout his career, he was involved in many business ventures, first as proprietor of Kit-Kat Ice Cream. He went on to work for D'Addario Oil and the U.S. Postal Servive. Tom was a veteran of the Korean War. He always liked to remain active and after retiring worked part-time for his good friend Cyril Mullins. Tom enjoyed playing racquetball with longtime friends Cy, Bob Schod and Ray Pistey. He loved the beach, spending many happy days at Penfield Beach in Fairfield and St. Mary's By the Sea in Black Rock. He also enjoyed the casinos, especially Atlantic City, or spending time at Barnes and Noble bookstore in Westport. Tom was a devoted husband to Margaret, his wife of 27 years. She affectionately called him "Mr. Mom" as he attended to many household duties.
In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his daughter Melanie (Steve) Sharp of TX; sister-in-law Olga Katsis of S.C.; nieces Deborah (Dennis) Moore of S.C. and Cindy Katsis of N.Y.; nephew Greg (Carol) Katsis of N.C., and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary and Ted Kozlowski and their son Michael Kozlowski all of Trumbull. Tom was predeceased by his brother Nicholas Katsis. Friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Ave., Bridgeport, with Fr. George Livaditis officiating. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. His wife Margaret thanks the Jewish Senior Services for providing Adult Day Care, aides, P.T. and O.T. and nurses who assisted with Tom's care at home.
