Vivienne Goldstein Obituary

GOLDSTEIN Vivienne Z. Goldstein, age 90, of Bridgeport, died Sunday, September 5, at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport to the late Rebecca and Samuel Zimmer, she was a resident of Fairfield for many years before moving back to Bridgeport. Vivienne was predeceased by her husband, Sidney Loewith Goldstein, and is survived be her children, Beth and Randy Reich and Carol and Rick Offenbach, all of Trumbull. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Stephanie Offenbach, Suzanne and Mark Weinberg, Jillian and Andrew Reich, and Julie Reich; and her great grandchildren, Kyle, Kevin, and Caitlyn Cottrell, Noah and Jonah Weinberg, and Samuel Reich. One of 11 children, she is survived by her brothers, Abraham and Jonathan Zimmer, and her sisters-in-law, Anne, Esther, Norma (Boots), and Marilyn Zimmer and more than 30 nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Mildred Hassan, and her brothers, Jacob Emanuel, Judah, Ithamar (Harold), Nahum, David, and Daniel Zimmer. She is also survived by a wide circle of long-time and close friends. While Fairfield residents, Vivienne and her husband were actively involved in the PTA, the Jewish Community Center, and in the founding of Congregation Beth El. Vivienne was a member of the JHE Women's Auxiliary, a life member of Hadassah and a member of Congregation B'nai Israel regularly participating in weekly Saturday morning Shabbat services. She loved bridge and all the arts and was an active and vibrant role model for all her 90 plus years. Vivienne relished life and was inspiration to all those who knew her. She will be greatly missed. Services were held on Tuesday September 07, 2010 at Congregation B'nai Israel in Bridgeport. The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home of Fairfield was in care of the arrangements. Family will receive visitors Saturday evening at the Reich residence in Trumbull.
