Walter Targowski Obituary

TARGOWSKI Walter R. Targowski, 70, beloved husband of Nancy Targowski died Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Jewish Home in Fairfield. He was a lifelong Fairfield resident. Walter enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Saltwater Sportsman's Association. In addition to Nancy, his devoted wife of 46 years, he is survived by his children, Kathleen M. Fleckenstein and her husband Frank of Fairfield, Walter R. Targowski II and his wife Lisa, and Matthew A. Targowski, all of Ansonia and Michael J. Targowski of Fairfield; seven grandchildren, Erin, Elizabeth and Stephanie Fleckenstein, and Anna, Sara, Kayle and Katelyn Targowski; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend the funeral services directly at Salem Lutheran Church, 3160 Park Avenue in Bridgeport on Thursday at 11 am. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm at the Fairfield Funeral Home of Edmund W. Dougiello, 36 South Pine Creek Road. Contributions may be made in Walter's memory to the American Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice.
