Walter Zdrodowski Obituary
Walter Zdrodowski age 89 of Bridgeport, loving husband of the late Irene Kapusta Zdrodowski of Derby, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2019. Born in Bridgeport on December 28, 1929, he was the son of the late Stanley and Alice Perkoski Zdrodowski. Walter worked at Avco Lycoming in Stratford, CT until his retirement in 1989. He was a veteran in the United States Air Force and Chaplain in the American Legion. Walter was very proud to have served his country.
Walt was an avid sports fan and loved the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed bowling and was a very talented artist; creating numerous paintings and wood carvings. He was proud of his Polish heritage and an active member of St. Michael the Arch Angel Church in Bridgeport.
Walter is survived by his sisters; Adele Walls and her husband Alan of California, Josephine Tarkowski of Trumbull, CT and Joan Litwinski and her husband, Michael, of Milford, CT. His sister, Mildred, predeceased Walter in 2002. He as was adored by many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11 a.m. in St. Michael the Archangel Church Bridgeport followed by interment in St. Michael Cemetery, Derby with full military honors. Calling hours will take place Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St. Bridgeport.
