Dear Billy, Colleen and Jude,

Your Dad was a wonderful man. He did many good things, quietly, without expecting or asking for fanfare or recognition. So did your Mom. And so do the three of you. You are all extraordinary people. I am honored to know you and be your friend.

Love,

Hank Drought & the Droughts

Dear Colleen, Jude and Bill,
I just today heard this sad news and wanted to let you know how fondly I'll always remember your wonderful Dad. He was such a great companion to my mother Mary Allen and a favorite of all of my family. We had lunch together about a year ago and I only wish I had seen him more recently. I send you my prayers and please know that the entire Allen family is thinking of you during this difficult time. We have lost a true gentleman.

To the family of Bill Brennan,

My husband and I met your dad a few years ago through a mutual friend. He has been at our home for barb-a-cue's and we even spent a New Years Eve with him. All I can say is what a guy! A true hero and a fine gentleman. Our lives are richer for having know him. He will be truly missed.

Kind regards,

Colleen, Billy and Jude,

My thoughts are with all of you. As you undoubtedly know, your father was one in a million. It's obvious he lived life to its fullest - from courage in his service to our country, to his love for your entire family to his charity and kindness in his volunteering commitments. It has truly been a privilege to know him.

Hard to believe he's gone! There'll never be anyone even close to him. I can still remember those stories he told time after time and they always got better with age. I'm sitting here now recalling some of them and laughing. All I can say, Heaven will never be the same.
