William F. Jankovsky Jr.
William F. Jankovsky Jr., age 73, of Stratford, beloved husband of Gail Canell Jankovsky, passed away on January 28, 2022, in Bridgeport Hospital. Bill was born in Bridgeport on January 22, 1949, to the late William Sr. and Helen (Kusy) Jankovsky and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Viet Nam War. Bill was a retired Imaging Technician for the Connecticut Post Newspaper and was an avid gardener who enjoyed growing "world class tomatoes" He was also a longtime volunteer, feeding the needy at The Lord's Kitchen. Survivors in addition to his wife, include his devoted daughters, Tracey Gairing and her husband William, Dawn Luna, and Nancy Koch and her husband Jeff, cherished grandchildren, Amber, Anthony, Nathaniel, Timothy, Melanie, and Dakota, sister, Barbara Jankovsky, and mother-in-law, Anna Mae Canell. A Memorial Service will take place in the spring. Those desiring may make a donation in memory of Bill to St. Raphael's Hospital Cardiac Department 1450 Chapel St New Haven, CT 06511. I first met Bill in Vietnam and we became bunkmates. We wrote each other from 1970 to last year - over 50 years of keeping in touch. I am blessed to have known him and his family.

My sincere condolence and prayers to the family of William J a n k o v s k y a very quiet man great sense of humor will be missed by all I've been friends with his sister Barbara for over 42 years my heart aches for you Barbara and also for you Gail his widow in his daughters and grandchildren I know there's no words can ease your pain through this difficult time that you're going through but I just want you to know that I'm there for you Barbara Gail and the girls my prayers are with you I pray for your strength I pray for your healing and I pray that God's light shine upon bill let us hold on to the fond memories we had of this great man great father a great husband a great brother a great grandfather a great friend a great neighbor just overall great human being that we don't normally see in today's society it I honor in the privilege to have known you for so many years and to be a part of your family rest in peace my brother we will all meet again
