William Miko Obituary

William S. Miko Sr.
William S. Miko Sr, 96, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on February 2, 1929, Bill grew up on the East Side of Bridgeport, the beloved son of Andrew and Julia Miko and a graduate of Harding High School Bridgeport, Class of 1947. Bill started his career as a Salesman for Standard Home Utility of Bridgeport where he met his beloved wife Mary DiCamillo Miko and were married on September 22, 1951. A man of great talent and tireless work ethic, Bill joined his brother Joseph and began Miko Brothers, Inc. until 1975. Their craftsmanship and dedication to excellence are forever imprinted on numerous homes, churches, and public buildings across Fairfield County. His work included landmarks such as the Shelton Methodist Church, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Monroe, McLevy Hall Bridgeport, Huntington Firehouse Shelton, Seymour Treatment Plant, Bridgeport Humane Affairs Building, Bridgeport Central Food Service Facility, in addition to various other projects within Fairfield County. Whether building new or renovating construction projects with his sons Bill Jr. and Dennis at Merritt Contractors, Bill approached every endeavor with integrity and skill.
Bill had a sharp mind and a generous spirit. An avid reader, he relished conversations with anyone willing to sit while sharing stories, discussing current events, and in his words, "Analyzing and Solving The World's Problems." He would also follow up with sending articles and requesting a call back to discuss. He also found great joy at the card table, where his love of Bridge brought together friends and family and enjoyed watching the NFL "Red Zone". His love for the game of Roulette, using his "secret system", kept him visiting Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods in CT, also the Gambling Cruises in FL. Above all, Bill's greatest pride and deepest devotion was to his family. Bill's life was a testament to faith, family, hard work, and the belief that one person can leave a lasting mark on the world. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Mary DiCamillo Miko, his son Dennis Miko, his brother Joseph Miko, his sisters Estelle Miko Robbins and Margaret Miko Hurd. He leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by his children: William S. Miko Jr. (Judy) of Shelton, CT, Patricia Page (Michael) of Adelaide, Australia, and Francine Miko of Boca Raton, Florida; his daughter-in-law Janice Miko; his grandchildren John Miko, Lauren Miko, David Miko, Greg Miko, Melinda Page and Alex Page; and six adored great-grandchildren and a special niece Mary Phyllis Miko Migliaro (Joseph) along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Dennis & D'Arcy – Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main St., Stratford, CT 06615 followed by a Gravesite Ceremony at St. Michael's Cemetery Stratford, CT at 11:30 a.m.

Mr. Miko! Gosh, I love, this picture of him! It's exactly how I remember him! A true gentleman! He had the best smile!
Patty, Francine, Billy....I'm so very sorry for your loss. Your Dad, along with your Mom have been some of those special people who when you think about them, your heart is flooded with warmth! ❤ We were so very blessed to share back yards with you! We had the very best neighbors...the Mikos, the Wildmans, the DiCamillos, the Crouses...just to name a few! Life was so good! Kickball, dodgeball, the pools, football, baseball, Easter egg hunts, RedRover, block parties, forts (of course we didn't have Mr Miko's talent for building but we made do!). Thank you to your Mom and Dad not only for putting up with all of us, but making us feel safe and always welcome! I can only imagine that amazing reunion in heaven for your Dad with your Mom and Dennis! My love and prayers to you as you learn to navigate this new path without the physical presence of your Dad. Your folks will always have a place in my heart! Take good care of YOU!
