Zygmunt Wieczorkowski Obituary
Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Zygmunt F. Wieczorkowski Jr., age 63 of Cleveland, beloved husband of Linda Elliott Wieczorkowski went to his heavenly rest on Monday, November 25, 2013 with his family by his side. "Ziggy" as he was known, fought a valiant battle against Lung Cancer, all while exhibiting dignity and courage. To his family, he was a pillar of strength, a true hero- someone you could call if you needed anything, at anytime. Those who knew Ziggy, knew he was Mr. Fix It- from home remodeling projects to cars- he could fix just about anything. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Ziggy was born in Litisberg, Germany on April 23, 1950 to the late Zygmunt Wieczorkowski Sr. and Mary Koval. Ziggy began his career with with Exxon Mobil, in Stratford Connecticut a long time resident of Shelton, CT he would remain there until his retirement in 2007, when he moved to White County, GA. He enjoyed his retirement by spending precious time with his wife, children, and grandson, as well as volunteering with the Friends of Georgia State Parks and Smithgall Woods.
In addition to his wife, Ziggy is survived by his cherished children-his son, Sean Wieczorkowski also of Cleveland, daughters, April Santacroce and her husband, John Santacroce of Naugatuck, CT, Michele Wieczorkowski of milford, CT; and his "little buddy", grandson, Christian Tyler Wieczorkowski-Good; brothers, Henry Wieczorkowski and wife, Teresa of Seymour, CT; John Wieczorkowski and wife Janice; Richard Wieczorkowski and wife Sadie, and Stanley Wieczorkowski and wife Ruth- all of Shelton, CT; sister, Christine Terlizzi and Husband, Charlie of Orange, CT.
Ziggy will be interred at a later date in the Georgia National Cemetery with full military honors. Memorial donations can be in his name to "Friends of Smithgall Woods" in memory of Ziggy Wieczorkowski 61 Tsalaki Trail, Helen, GA 30545-3001.
