Born July 26, 1926, in Fayetteville, Ark., the son of the late Lee Roy and Jamie Ruth (McAbee) Williams, he retired from the U.S. Navy with 21 years of service in 1966. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War.
After retiring from the military, he became a self-employed truck driver for the next 18 years.
He was a life member of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 in Chambersburg and a member of Pleasant Hall Volunteer Fire Co.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Maryjean (Rock) Williams; a stepson, Donald Smith of Roxbury; three stepdaughters, Pamela Monnier of York Springs, Susan Smith of Greencastle and Michelle Neil of Fannettsburg; two sons, Paul Williams of Texas and Mike Williams of Little Rock, Ark.; two daughters, Samantha and Sandy; a sister, Roberta Simpson of Arkansas; four step-grandchildren; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, 112 W. King St., Shippensburg, with the Rev. Timothy W. Sadler officiating. Burial will be in St. Peters Church Cemetery, Perry County.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to a favorite charity.
