Elizabeth Klein Obituary

Born Nov. 29, 1952, in Fairborn, Ohio, she was a daughter of Allison B. and Marian C. Brown Mearns of Ocean, N.J.

Mrs. Klein was a 1970 graduate of Middletown Township High School, East Stroudsburg University, and she attended graduate school at Shippensburg University. She was a regulatory analyst for the Pennsylvania Senate's Independent Regulatory Review Commission. She was also a lobbyist, legislative assistant and teacher of regular and special education. For several years, she was an at-home mother.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 31 years, Erich J. Klein; two sons, Erich Max Klein of Carlisle and Peter Daniel Klein of Carlisle; a daughter, Allison Courtney Klein of Carlisle; two sisters, Ellen Mearns Bechtold of Butler, N.J., and Susan Stobie of Andover, N.J.; her maternal grandfather, Courtney P. Brown of Jamesburg, N.J.; and numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by a brother, George A. Mearns.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Brethren in Christ Church, 1155 Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle, with the Rev. Alan Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Waggoners United Methodist Church Cemetery, Carlisle.

Friends may from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday in the church.

Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Harrisburg Teen Challenge, PO Box 3143, Harrisburg, PA 17105-3143 or to the Pinnacle Health Hospice, 3705 Elmwood Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
