Genevieve A. Murphy, 85, of Boiling Springs went to be with her Father in heaven on Friday, July 3, 2009, in the Todd Home and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.
Born on April 25, 1924, in Armaugh Township, Mifflin County, she was the last surviving child of 14 children born to James W. and Maude Fultz Miller.
She had been employed at the former Naval Supply Depot in Mechanicsburg, and also at the former C.H. Masland & Sons, Carlisle.
Mrs. Murphy was a member of the Shippensburg Independent Baptist Church, enjoyed word puzzles and reading her Bible.
She was preceded in death by a son, Patrick L. Murphy Jr.
Surviving are her husband of almost 61 years, Patrick L. Murphy; two sons, Bryne K. (and his wife, Marguirite "Kass") Murphy of Mt. Holly Springs and Bradley N. (and his wife, Karen) Murphy of Landisburg; a grandson, Jeremy B. Murphy of Carlisle; a granddaughter, Amanda M. (and her husband, Joe) Shaw of Oklahoma; two great-granddaughters, Madelyn and Emma Shaw; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle, with the Rev. Kenneth Waggoner officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Boiling Springs. A visitation will be held 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
