Gladys Bender Obituary

Born June 28, 1938, in Letterkenny Township, she was the daughter of the late Roy J. and Ruby K. Newton Dice.

A 1957 graduate of Shippensburg High School, Mrs. Bender was a retired manager of Shippensburg University Bookstore after 38 years of service.

She was a member of Prince Street United Brethren Church, Shippensburg, and its progressive Sunday school class.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn J. Bender; a son, Glenn R. Bender of Shippensburg; two brothers, Harold E. Dice of Fredericksburg and Merle A. Dice of Shippensburg; a grandson, Glenn James Bender of Shippensburg; a granddaughter, Kendra Leigh Bender of Shippensburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Prince Street United Brethren Church, 17 N. Penn St., Shippensburg, with the Rev. James O. Bolich officiating. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery, Greene Township.

Friends may call Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. in Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, 112 W. King St., Shippensburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
