Heni-Iris Kaye, 60, of Carlisle passed away on Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.
She was born on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 1949, in Montreal, Canada, and was a daughter of the late David and Beatrice (Rosner) Finkelstein.
Heni was a retired school teacher with more than 30 years of service with the Harrisburg Schools, where she taught the fourth grade. She received her master's degree in education from Sarah Lawrence College in Manhattan, N.Y.
She is survived by a daughter, Tammi L. (and her husband, Michael) Stamy of Carlisle; two sons, Ian C. (and his wife, Renee) Sorkin of Carlisle and Adam M. (and his wife, Christie) Sorkin of Lemoyne; and six grandchildren, Ian Sorkin, Christian Sorkin, Taylor Sorkin, Cassidy Sorkin, Destiny Stamy and Raven Stamy.
Memorial services to celebrate Heni's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Aug. 19 at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 1000 Claremont Road, Carlisle, with Chaplain Hugh Foshee officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
