Jerry Harless Obituary
Born Aug. 17, 1931, in West Virginia, he was the son of the late Robert and Bertha (Blackburn) Harless.
He was a graduate of the University of Charleston and a teacher at the Carson Long Institute in New Bloomfield until his retirement. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Army.
He was a member of New Bloomfield VFW Post 7463.
Mr. Harless is survived by his wife, Arlene B. Harless; two sons, Thomas Harless and Wayne Harless; two daughters, Carol Gutshall and Judith Mohler; a stepson, Brian T. Mauk; a stepdaughter, Sue E. Snyder; a sister, June Lawson of Warsaw, Va.; and several grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Myers Funeral Home, Second and Walnut streets, Newport. Burial with full military honors conducted by New Bloomfield VFW Post 7463 and Newport American Legion Post 177, will be in the Newport Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
