Born Jan. 8, 1946, in Carlisle, he was a son of the late John E. and Georgia (Houck) Barrick.
Mr. Barrick was the owner and operator of the Log Cabin Inn in Newport and also was the sole proprietor of Barrick Builders.
He was a member of Hunters Valley Sportsmen Association, the Bartenders Association of Newport, the Newport Social Order of Owls, ABATE of Pennsylvania, VFW Post 7463 of New Bloomfield, VFW Post 34 of Newport, Fraternal Order of Eagles in Carlisle and Newport American Legion Post 177. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Barrick is survived by two sons, Ronald L. Barrick of Mechanicsburg and David E. Barrick of New Bloomfield; two brothers, Paul E. Barrick of Newville and Issac D. Barrick of Carsonville; a sister, Marilyn L. Myers of Greencastle; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah R. Wingert.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Highland Presbyterian Church, Church Road in Newport, with the Rev. Michael Witmer officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery near Carlisle.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Log Cabin Inn, Newport, and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the church.
