Kenneth Wayne Shields, 56, of 139 Southside Drive, Newville, died suddenly on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, in South Middleton Township, Cumberland County.
Born March 29, 1952, in Mount Union, Huntingdon County, he was a son of the late Charles J. Sr. and Demmie A. Geyer Shields McKee.
Kenneth was a member of Centerville Lutheran Church in Newville, and was presently employed at J L G Industries Inc., Shippensburg.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Bonnie Kay Foose Shields; four sons, Michael W. Shields of Mercersburg, Benjamin W. Shields and Andrew A. Shields, both of Kansas City, Kan., and Bryan W. Shields of Newville; two daughters, Lisa M. Pecht of Shippensburg and Briann M. Shields of Newville; a stepson, Darron C. Foose, Akron, Ohio; and a stepdaughter, Rebecca M. Foose of Newville; and 14 grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, Charles J. Shields Jr. of Shippensburg, William J. Shields of Cresant City, Fla., Thomas J. Shields Sr. of Shippensburg; and two sisters, Mary A. Bowermaster and Leona M. Marpoe, both of Shippensburg.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, in Centerville Lutheran Church, 1874 Walnut Bottom Road, Newville. The Rev. Antoinette J. Carlin will officiate. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, 112 W. King St., Shippensburg.
