Kirk L. Shay

October 30, 1943 - August 17, 2025

Kirk Leonard Shay, 81, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025. He was the son of the late James K. and Laura E. Shay.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary (Rahilly) Shay, three sons, Andrew (Maureen) Shay, of Mechanicsburg, Daniel (Stacy) Shay, of Carlisle, Gregory Shay, of Florida as well as seven grandchildren, Kaci, Brendan, Maria, Hannah, Roger, Kalliopi, Sophia, whom he loved very much.

Kirk retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1983, after having 21 years of active-duty service, as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer. He retired from the Quaker Oats Company in 2001 as a supervisor.

In his life, he was an avid sports enthusiast and a golf fanatic. He loved life and he loved his family. He was an active member of Carlisle Elks Lodge # 578, where he enjoyed serving on the Board.

His interment will take place in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

THE FAMILY REQUESTS NO FLOWERS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kirk's name may be made to: Kindred Spirit Veterinary Hospital, 1556 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA 17015.
