Louis Edward Skender

July 15, 1941 - November 19, 2023

Retired Army Colonel Louis Edward Skender ("Ed"), 82, of Hampden Township died on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Country Meadows. He was the son of Louis and Margaret Arbes Skender of Upper St. Clair Township, Allegheny County, PA. He was born in Pittsburgh and is a graduate of Mount Lebanon High School, Georgetown University, the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, and the Army War College. Ed is survived by his wife of 54 years, Susan McCall Skender; three children, Katherine (Skender) Young, Margaret Skender, and David Skender; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Daniel Young. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 30, 2023 at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 1 Peter Drive, Mechanicsburg. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of my former neighbor Ed. He was simple a great person and will be missed by everyone who knew him. My prayers are for his family. He is certainly in a better place.
