He attended Boiling Springs and Carlisle High School where he was number 39 on the football team. He learned the trades of bricklayer and stone mason with his father. He joined the US Army in 1946 serving in Alaska. After returning home, he formed a successful construction company and built houses, schools, hospitals, and warehouses throughout Pennsylvania and Maryland.
In 1961, he married the former Nesta M. Miller of Forksville. Lynn always had a fascination for real estate. He took on his first renovation in 1965, with an 1800's farmhouse. In 1967, Lynn, Nesta and their children moved into their farmhouse, which was featured in the Carlisle Sentinel newspaper.
Lynn's next project was his current home in Forksville. In 1976, Lynn and his family made the move to Sullivan County where he had been working on that same home right up until his illness.
Lynn was a businessman, risk taker and entrepreneur. He built log homes in Sullivan and Bradford counties in the 1980s. Next he became a successful real estate developer renovating dozens of properties in Sullivan County into apartment living. Always a stone mason at heart, Lynn and his son Mike completed the stone work at World's End State Park during the park's recent renovations.
In his younger years, Lynn enjoyed horses, hunting and snowmobiling. Later in life he spent many winters traveling to Florida with his friends and family. He loved history, traveling, looking at old buildings and watching Westerns. His greatest loves were his grandchildren and taking many pictures of his family. He was a dedicated, hardworking man. He loved to work day and night. He was always dreaming of his next project up until the day he died.
He was a member of the Forksville United Methodist Church, the Elks Lodge #578, and the Moose Lodge #761 both in Carlisle PA; the Canton Lodge #415, F. & A.M., the Williamsport Consistory, the Bellaire Acres Rod and Gun Club and the Eagles Mere Country Club.
