Robert Gambert Obituary

CW4 (Ret.) Robert Louis Gambert, 75, of Carlisle passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019 in his home.

He was born November 11, 1943 in San Francisco, CA to the late Robert L. Gambert Sr. and Elvera Anne (Lopez) Gambert Jones.

Robert honorably served his country in the US Army for 33 years, including two tours in Vietnam and a tour in Desert Storm, before retiring as a CW4.

Bob is survived by his wife, Ute C. (Allinger) Gambert of Stuttgart, Germany; one daughter, Patricia Lorena Gambert of El Paso, TX; one granddaughter, Lorena Gambert of San Antonio, TX; one sister, Barbara Jones (husband Bruce) Ricci of San Francisco, CA; one great-grandson, Angelo Mejia of San Antonio, TX; one nephew, Robert Jones of San Francisco, CA; and one niece, Gloryanna Ricci of San Francisco, CA .

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Mary Queen of Peace Chapel, 452 Mara Circle Carlisle, PA 17013 with Rev. Tyson Wood as celebrant. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday, March 15, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 477, 2104 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013.
