Susan Gambert Obituary
Susan Strachan Gambert of Ormond Beach, passed away on November 21, 2024 surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Chicago, IL on February 3, 1951 to John and Gloria Strachan and moved to the Daytona Beach area with her family in 1959. She attended Daytona State College and received her Nursing degree. She started her career in the Emergency Department at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida before moving back to Daytona Beach, where she worked for over 40 years at local hospitals and for a family practice physician. She had many friends, enjoyed cooking, being in church, but most of all cherished her family and entertaining in her home. She knew exactly how to bring people together with a cold glass of wine, an infectious laugh and memorable conversation.
Susan was married to her husband and high school sweetheart, William, for 47 years. They had two children, Ryan Gambert (Amanda) and Julianne Montgomery (Wyatt) and three granddaughters, Olivia, Emma and Perry.
Before passing, Susan requested we share our memories of her together, as both the family and friends she cherished. Therefore, after the funeral service at St. Brendan Catholic Church, 1000 Ocean Shore Blvd. Ormond Beach on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11:00AM. there will be a celebration of life at the Gambert residence. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Susan's name to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
