Ronald L. Simons, 79, of Carlisle, Pa., passed away September 24, 2025, at his home.
Born August 22, 1946, in Mechanicsburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Gerald F. and Helen C. (Reighter) Simons.
Ronald had a successful career as a Real Estate Broker and Developer. Spending over 40 years in the business, he accomplished many large local projects including the Walnut Court Association in Carlisle. He was a member of the Carlisle Masonic Lodge No. 260, Zembo Shrine and a lifetime member of the Carlisle Elks Lodge #578. Ronald also served as President of the Carlisle Kiwanis Club. Throughout his life he enjoyed playing golf and watching horse racing, football and basketball. He loved trips to Las Vegas, Nev., Atlantic City, N.J., and especially loved traveling to visit his family. His children and his grandchildren were his absolute pride and joy. He will be lovingly remembered for his bold personality, strong opinion and witty sense of humor; all containing lots of wisdom. Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sharon (Ebener) Simons. He is additionally survived by his daughter, Jill Ellis (Jay); son, Jason Simons (Mitch); and grandchildren, Madelyn Hewitt, Ronald Hudson Hewitt and Michael Harris Hewitt all of the Atlanta, Ga. area; and his sister, Diane Shulenberger (Gary) of Mechanicsburg. His brother, Gerald F. Simons, Jr. preceded him in death.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 4 p.m., at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd. Carlisle, PA 17013. The family will be accepting friends from 3:30 p.m., until the time of the service.
