Ruby Koontz Obituary

Ruby L. Koontz, 86, of Biglerville died Friday, March 2, 2012, at York Hospital with her husband and son by her bedside.

She was born Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1925, in East Pennsboro Township, Cumberland County, the daughter of the late Harold and Stella (Hartman) Houser.

Ruby graduated from Enola High School in 1943. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband G. Russell Koontz to whom she was married for 63 years. She is also survived by a son, Barry L. Koontz of Gettysburg and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother H. Robert Houser and three sisters, Florence Wisegarver, Mary Gamber and Mildred Walters.

Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 S. Main St., Bendersville. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at the Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., Bendersville. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until time of services Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Idaville United Methodist Church, 3725 Carlisle Road, Gardners, PA 17324. Friends may express online condolences at www.DuganFH.com.
