1935 - 2016

H. Dean White, 80, of N. Edward Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016 at his home.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, June 24, 2016, 10:00 AM, at the Gazebo at Carlsbad Cemetery with Pastor Brett Smith officiating. Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. H. Dean White was born November 29, 1935 in Carlsbad, NM to Kenneth and Opal (Sessom) White. He served his country in the US Navy. Dean married Carolyn Bailey April 22, 1957 here in Carlsbad. He worked in pipeline construction for various gas companies as a welder, later as an inspector and retired as a superintendent. Dean enjoyed spending time at the house he built at Lake Amsted and he had a knack for bass fishing. The family would like to especially thank Crystal with Encompass Hospice for the compassionate care she gave Dean during his last days. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Chuck Larrentree; grandsons: Jeremy White, Roby White and Ryan White and step-sister, Ann Ferrell. Survivors are his wife, Carolyn White of Carlsbad, NM; sons: Garye White of Carlsbad, NM, Kellye White and wife, Cheryl of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren: Jennifer Haschets and husband, Johnny, Jordan White, Krista Ordonez and husband, Reggie; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene White of Carlsbad, NM; sister, Jan Bryant of Hurst, Texas; step-brother, Bill Larrentree of Dallas, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
