James White Jr. was born to the legendary Jim White Sr., who discovered the Carlsbad Caverns, and Fanny Hill White. Jim was raised and educated in Carlsbad.
He spent more than three years serving his country in the Army Air Corp as an airplane and engine mechanic. Working as a pipe fitter in the construction industry, Jim and his wife Marguerite made a life for themselves and their family in Carlsbad. Jim and Marguerite were married for 62 years. The profession of pipe fitting allowed Jim the opportunity to travel all over the western part of the country. He was a lifetime member of the Elks and the Pipe Fitters Union.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Patricia.
Survivors include his wife of the family home; a son, Mickey White of St. Johns, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers are Michael Hill, Scott Woodward, David Hussey, Jeremy Fuentes, Stephen Kuz and Jimmy Fuson.

Mr. White,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
